I was both the photographer and a guest at this wedding. It was my sister-in-laws wedding and everything turned out great! There was cooperation, laughs, craziness and some great locations. I had 5 very willing to do anything groomsmen and 5 beautiful bridesmaids, but for now just a teaser...

Had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Jungle Island. If you have never been, it's a must, it's overgrown, lush, tropical and gave way to some beautiful backgrounds for this small intimate wedding. For now, just a teaser, more to come in a week or two...

Sunlit Curls {Miami Children's Photographer}

Going into this session I already knew that I wanted to light up little Miss E's beautiful curls. She was great! Loved taking photos, had a beautiful natural smile and especially loved the red pettidress...so much so that she cried when it was time to take it off.

A very memorable session!

First is little man...Just turned 1 and just learned to walk. I loved his bald head :) Also showing off my $40 find wooden airplane prop, although heavy and bulky I drag it out to all my boy sessions. A hit every time...

Little miss high energy! We laughed so much with her...We will never forget that one word that would make her smile to no end ;)

This is a friendly reminder to pick up the camera and start shooting. Get your kids playing, discovering, bathing, sleeping, running, screaming.....They are only this wonderous once, capture the memories.

I love capturing my kids being themselves. My littlest was out in the yard blowing bubbles, her most favorite thing to do. The sun was in the perfect spot to where it was lighting up all her crazy hair and the wind was blowing hard making her curls fly all over. This is how I want to remember her.....

Boys

These are my first newborn boys. Up until now it's been all girls.
Up first is baby boy L. This little one had mom on her toes. He did not want to be bothered for photos, but we still managed a few sleepy shots...

I love how he looks wrapped up in mom's arms...

This shot makes me smile...

Next up is baby boy R. At 6 weeks premature this little one was tiny. He just wanted to be wrapped up and snuggled. Used lots of color with him...

Lots-o-newborns for the past few weeks, been busy busy busy. I got my first pair of twins! Adorable, squishy, chunky twin girls. Although they were 6 weeks we were still able to get them to sleep, after about 2.5 hours of course ;) So meet D & M....

Sweetness...

This little one was the cutest little thing. She was so awake and alert and would make the sweetest "baby talk" noises. She was able to hold her head up high and we also managed to get her to sleep for some newborn type shots that mom really wanted.

Urban Angel

Ok, I'll admit, I love my angel wings....love them. I made the tutu myself, took me a few hours to tie all those little knots. I also made the crown from some garland and added some pink beads, though I think they need more. I wanted the softness of the baby, wings and tutu against a more rough, hard, textured surface that I could draw color out of.

I absolutely love how these came out! I definitely need to find more grungy spots and make more wings and tutus. I have ideas coming to me.....

I've always wanted to do something with this picture, it's one of my all time favorites of my kids. Took me a few hours and it could probably use a another touch here or there, but overall I like it. It was good practice for skin.

I've recently learned how to paint in photoshop. I had my mom scan her wedding photos to see if I could bring one back to life. The original was washed out and faded and had some yellow spots on it....

Had the pleasure of being able to shoot this little cutie again. As soon as the ladybug costume came out I knew it would go perfect with my new backdrop. We also did a fall setup complete with cowboy hat and boots......

Had the pleasure of photographing this little doll in the secret garden. Took her a few minutes to get used to her surroundings and after that she was good to go.

I gave this one a soft vintage feel. This is my favorite from the session......

Bubbles! What is it about kids and bubbles? I wish the photo had sound so you could hear all her oohhh and ahhh's.

August, month of many firsts.....

Many, many firsts this month.....My sons first day of school, my daughter had her first 30 minute tantrum and I had my first mom-to-be come in for studio shots (also snuck outside for a few shots, but the mosquitos were wild!)........

Can't wait to meet the little one!

Little Beach Wedding

Drove up to Hollywood Beach for a small intimate beach wedding. From the moment I walked out onto the boardwalk I knew I wanted to capture a moment there. I love long leading lines and with the art deco look I knew I could get a vintage feel to it.

Painting in Photoshop

After going through some tutorials and looking at many, many beautiful examples, I decided to try a few of my own. This is a friend's little girl. I love her curly her, also challenging. I would love to offer this to my clients, printed on gallery wrap canvas would look awesome. Took me about 3 hours in total.

Finally, back from vacation. Now for a vacation from the kids, hmmmmm........

Anyways, keep watching as I will be showing off some new paintings. I love doing these paintings and hope the people I am doing them for love them too.

Yup, ten minutes, that was it or that was all we could stand. First we got attacked by mosquitos the size of hummingbirds, I kid you not. Once we ran like flailing crazy people through the dunes the beach was one big swarm of gnats, UGHHH. I managed to snap a few pics, a very few. Most of them the kids are flailing their arms in disgust of the gnats.

Ahhh, my little one, what a smart little cookie she is. The moment I pulled the camera out to start snapping photos she came running, sat herself on the luggage and started giving me big cheesy grins. I have taught you well little one.......

Sneak Peek of Miss G

It was great to meet little Miss G and her family. She is the cutest, chunkiest baby I have met to date. Right from the start she flashed me a big gummy grin, so I knew things would go smooth from there. I love love love the colors!! The Secret Garden only gets better by the day.

All shot with 40D with an alienbee B800 switched from camera left and right depending on the scene. SS maintained at 200, iso between 100-400 and varied my ap between 4.0 and 11.

Gallery Wrap Canvas

I buckled and ordered a gallery wrap canvas of the bubbles picture below.

It is absolutely fabulous! It's so crisp, bright and the colors are perfect. The feel of it is heavy and textured but the photo is still so sharp. The corners are folded perfectly and it comes ready to hang. Everyone that has seen it has fallen in love with it. I hope to be able to sell a few. I stare at it all the time, silly me ;P

Secret Garden

I love this boy...his ears, his dimpled chin, his speckled eyes....I love photographing him and I love photographing in my aunts garden. It's bright and colorful and my very own private location for outdoor sessions. So I chased him around for a bit and got the below photo, let me also say this was the first time that he walked for more than just 2-3 steps.

Camera settings: Manual, SS 160, f4, ISO 320, 70mm, and fired flash for some fill. Color pop, curves and slight sharpen in PS.

Starting Over.....

Well, wordpress did not agree with me, I could not upload pictures. So I moved over to Blogger and so far so good.

Let's start.......Off camera flash

I have been wanting to experiment with off camera flash. Apparently, according to many pro photogs, that is the best place for your flash. So I ordered myself some cheapy flash triggers from China. They only fire 8 out of 10 times, but hey, for $35 bucks they work awesome! So I dragged the tripod, flash and camera along with husband, 2 diablos, an old chair and a bubble machine. I set up in the over grown field next to my house (checked for snakes and bugs first, haha!). Camera settings: SS 200, iso 100, aperture varied between f4-f8 and flash at camera left at either 1/4 or 1/8. I metered for the field and sky and found a happy medium and re-metered (is that a word?) every 8 or so shots b/c the sun was peaking in and out of the clouds. I postioned the diabla so that the sun acted like a hairlight. Turned on the bubble machine and voila! my most favorite photo ever of my little diabla. Totally gives you a glimpse into her quirky little personality. And, yes, the bubbles are real.

It's amazing how when a picture is properly exposed it just jumps out at you. The crisp colors, fine detail and sharpness of this photo are amazing. It's almost surreal. I am LOVING having my flash off camera. The only PSing I did was a slight color pop, slight levels and a bit more blue in the sky. I will definetly have this photo blown up, orrr maybe a gallery wrap canvas, either way it's going up somewhere in my casa.
